THE HISTORY OF MAHÓN GIN IS INSEPARABLE FROM THAT OF MAHÓN, OUR LEGENDARY PORT CITY.
MAHÓN IS NAMED AFTER THE BROTHER OF HANNIBAL, THE FEARED CARTHAGINIAN LEADER AND FREQUENT ISLAND VISITOR.
MUCH LATER, GREAT BRITAIN TOOK OVER MAHÓN, FOR ITS DEEP WATER PORT IN THE EARLY 1700S, WITH LORD NELSON BECOMING A FAMED LOCAL RESIDENT.
